The Indian IT Industry seems to be taking a very cautious approach, seeing the current volatility of the market amid trade tensions with the United States.
While hiring has increased during the March quarter, with TCS, Wipro and Infosys taking the lead with 625, 614, and 199 new hires respectively, it is nothing compared to the numbers before this period of uncertainty.
FY2025 saw these top companies adding a total of 13,503 employees as compared to a massive reduction of 64,000 back in FY2024.
TCS CEO K Krithivasan had some words to say about the situation.
He explained, “Until February, we were quite positive and optimistic about the quarter, we started seeing some uncertainty creeping in in March, resulting in some project delays, some decision-making delays.”
For now, there is nothing more to do for these tech moguls rather than wait and carefully plan out their future strategies based on the stormy sea of Donald Trump’s tariff war.
